The DASH Diet – It fights high blood pressure and is mainly consists of lots of fruits and vegetables, fish, whole grains and low-fat dairy products. It is also the top diet for managing diabetes.
The TLC Diet – Created by the National Institutes of Health, the TLC (Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes) diet is good for lowering levels of cholesterol. It is easy to follow and is one to do at home.
The Mayo Clinic Diet – Best for maintaining overall healthy lifestyles. There are two parts to it and book to buy. Like any weight loss plan, participants can lose 6 to 10 pounds in the first two weeks and then a pound or two each week thereafter.
The Mediterranean Diet – It focuses on eating lots of fruits and veggies, fish, olive oils and grains. Maintaining an active lifestyle is also a part of this plan. There is a book to buy which is found on most online bookseller websites. It is a do-it-on-your-own plan.
Weight Watchers – It is the overall number one rated commercial weight loss plan. It is simple to follow. Food can be bought in stores instead of purchased from the plan. There is a cost to join and for weekly meetings. The group support is very beneficial especially when the right group is found and one regularly attends.
